BIS records launches re:orchestra first CD, with Beltrán-Zavala
The essential music series presents composers in the context of the folk music of their environment. Roberto Beltrán-Zavala and the re:orchestra have prepared a program of works by Dmitri Shostakovich, surrounded by folk songs from the Balkans, Russia and Romania. In this program, Shostakovich’s works are combined with folk music traditional of the streets of Eastern Europe bringing to the audience a new and refreshing perspective of Shostakovich’s works.

Beltrán-Zavala closes the International Spring Orchestra Festival in Malta
The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Roberto Beltrán Zavala brought the International Spring Orchestra Festival to a spectacular conclusion celebrating the struggles for freedom through Karl Fiorini’s first symphony dedicated to the golden jubilee anniversary of Malta’s independence.
Alongside the symphony, Beltrán Zavala guided us on a musical journey to the near orient with Rimsky-Korsakov’s most popular work and highly evocative Scheherazade suite, bringing the evening and the festival to a magnificent finale.
