SHLOMO MINTZ

YOEL LEVI

For Brahms’ Violin Concerto, the Stuttgart Philharmonic has invited the great violinist legend Shlomo Mintz, who recently celebrated his 60th stage anniversary season.

The second major orchestral work of the evening is Richard Strauss’ great tone poem loosely based on Friedrich Nietzsche “Also Sprach Zarathustra” (1896), which became world-famous not only for its introductory bars. Strauss called this beginning a “formula for the universe” and originally intended his composition as “symphonic optimism in fin de siècle form” for the “20th century”. century”.

Conductor Yoel Levi was music director of the KBS Symphony Orchestra in Seoul until 2019 and previously held the same position with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic and the Orchester National d’Ile de France. He is a sought-after guest with many major orchestras in the USA, Europe and Asia.
