The Arthur Waser Prize goes to 17-year-old violinist Pilar Policano from Argentina
The Arthur Waser Prize is being awarded for the sixth time; this year it goes to 17-year-old violinist Pilar Policano from Argentina.
“Pilar Policano is a wonderful young violinist who demonstrates a rare combination of musicality, energy, and passion. From the very first moment, her vibrant tone touched me. She deserves the support of the Arthur Waser Prize,” said Numa Bischof Ullmann, Artistic Director of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra . The award is presented to Pilar Policano by the Arthur Waser Foundation and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra and, in addition to the prize money, includes two concerts at the KKL Lucerne with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra. On May 7 and 8, she will perform Korngold’s Violin Concerto under the direction of James Gaffigan.
