EUGÈNE YSAŸE
SIX VIOLIN SONATAS, OP. 27
New Album Release March 2019
« There are many fine recordings of the complete Ysaÿe sonatas for solo violin.
My version is simply an attempt to share a personal interpretation prompted by and reflecting Ysaÿe’s own notion of “for all humanity”.
By and large I have followed the standard editions, but I also looked at the so-called original editions, and this having influenced some of my decisions, I consider my versión to reflect a “best of all” approach. And this I would like to share in the same spirit of “for all humanity”.
Ysaÿe’s free, individual outlook had a religious basis, and this too was part of his personal wish to communicate.
I would like to thank the people who made this recording possible, especially those who put this extraordinary music before their own personal interests».
