Roberto Beltrán-Zavala



Roberto Beltrán-Zavala opens the 1st Season of the Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra (OSUG) with a magnificent program with works by Strauss, Dvorak and Mahler.

Violinist Karen Su will perform, under the baton of Beltrán-Zavala, the Violin Concerto A minor by Antonin Dvorak, considered one of the masterpieces of Dvorak’s so-called Slavic period. Dedicated to Joseph Joachim, this piece is one of Dvorak’s most popular and most frequently performed works and is today an essential part of the international violin repertoire.

The beautiful Symphony Nr. 1 in D Major by Mahler, also known as the ‘Titan’ symphony and premiered in 1889 at the Vigadó Concert Hall in Budapest , conducted by Mahler himself, will be in the second half of the concert.

Upcoming concerts  of Beltrán-Zavala are two appointments with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Monterrey and the Orquesta Filarmónica Boca del Rio on dates February 15th and 23, respectively. He will conduct works by Wagner, Dvorak, Mozart and Shostakovich.
